Nextel Motorola i850 Reviews. Cell Phones Reviews by CNET.
The good: Gorgeous internal display; improved design; speakerphone; VGA camera; Direct Connect walkie-talkie service.

The bad: Bulky and heavy; no flash for the camera; small external screen.

The bottom line: Nextel’s chic, clamshell-style Motorola i850 feels as heavy as a brick but packs in all the goodies that the carrier’s subscribers have come to expect.

Motorola i850 - Features, Specs, and User Reviews - Mobiledia
I’ve used Motorola’s flip phones since the i90 a couple years ago, which I loved. I ended up losing my i90 and purchasing an i730, which I had to return several times because of dropped calls and overall low connectivity. It was clear that even though this phone superceded the i90, something with the network strength had been changed because places in which I received full signal and absolutely NO dropped calls with my i90 I experienced major problems with all of the i730s I had.

The new top-of-the-line Nextel phone from the recently merged Sprint Nextel is the handsome i850. It packs in all of the carrier’s latest features, including excellent call quality and a gorgeous screen.

The i850, to a great extent, is what we wished the i836 had been: a solid, handsome phone with plenty of features. At 3.5 by 1.8 by 1.1 inches and 4.7 ounces, it’s not exactly slim or light, but the gunmetal-gray case looks professional. The hinge is sturdier than the one on the i836, and the i850’s inside is also more attractive. In addition, the phone is pretty rugged, it meets the military 810F spec for resisting heat, cold, and dust, and is generally able to survive being knocked around. A couple of four-foot drops onto our office floor didn’t do it any harm.
