Number Portability

If you are in an existing contract and have given your number to hundreds of people you don�t want to have to contact all of them with your new number. Recent legislation allows you to move your number between carriers. Most importantly make sure your existing contract is expired and you incur any cancellation fees. If you do decide to change carriers the new provider will actually take care of the transfer for you. It can take as little as a few hours or as long as a few days to complete. It is important you don�t cancel your service with your old provider until the number porting procedure has completed. It is also possible to port your existing home phone number onto your cell phone if you desire.
