Motorola is the number 2 cellular provider across the globe. They have recently undergone a major restructuring, transforming the company into a leaner more profitable operation. The company was originally known as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation but changed to Motorola in 1947. At the time other popular companies had “oloa” in their name such as Videola and Movieola. Motorola began producing electronics such as car radio and then branched out into battery powered communication devices such as personal radios and walkie talkies. Currently they are also involved in broadband, network and IP based technologies as well.
